About Alayna Spiers, MA, CCC-SLP

Education/Background: I have my Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from University of Northern Iowa. I work with patients who have aphasia, dysphagia, acquired cognitive deficits, dysarthria, voice disorders, stutters, and more. The main populations I see are patients with head and neck cancer, people who have had a stroke, or suffered a traumatic brain injury. I am specially trained in VitalStim and Fiber Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing.

Philosophy of Care: I strive to provide evidence-based, and inclusive care that reflects the whole person: their goals, values and story. I'm committed to helping each individual build back confidence, safety, connection, and participation in what matters most to them.

Why I became a Speech Language Pathologist: I was initially drawn to speech-language pathology because I'm inspired by the intersection of communication, swallowing, and quality of life. Supporting adults as they rebuild these essential skills, and seeing how that impacts their independence and connection, continues to drive my passion for this field.
